PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Master of Science in Urban Education is a graduate program at Florida International University's College of Education under the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. The program is designed to provide specialized knowledge and practice in areas related to urban multicultural contexts in an effort to enhance the effectiveness of educators serving in diverse urban settings. The Urban Education program offers five specialty tracks from which participants may select one.

This specialty track develops the skills of educators to work with linguistically and culturally diverse populations while providing an opportunity to fulfill State requirements for add-on ESOL endorsement. It promotes the development of teachers as effective change agents and instructional leaders. |
This specialty track emphasizes the development of effective teaching skills and dispositions required for the effective instruction of culturally diverse students in urban schools. It prepares teachers for rewarding careers in urban contexts. | This specialty track is designed to provide practicing and prospective teachers with the necessary knowledge, skills, and dispositions to effectively utilize computers and related technologies to facilitate teaching and learning in diverse settings. |
